Deafkid are back!  The follow up to their critically acclaimed ‘Vigilante’ single is here – ‘Dialects’.

Out on October 6th, ‘Dialects’ sees the band once again blending influences from the worlds of electronica, experimental and pop.  The 4-track EP was produced by Kristopher Harris (Bear’s Den, Smoke Fairies, Story Books) and mastered by Matt Coulton (Kanye West, James Blake, Coldplay)

Deakfid is made up by musician producer duo Christopher Lockington and Florian Sauvaire.  Prior to forming Deafkid Chris and Flo worked with experimental hip hop artist Ghostpoet and provided additional production on his Mercury Prize nominated album ‘Peanut Butter Blues And Melancholy Jam’, also forming the live band for subsequent Ghostpoet tours from 2009-2012.

Their debut AA side single ‘Talk’ / ‘Pig’ and its follow-up ‘Vigilante’ both picked up mass critical acclaim, gaining press support in the UK from NME, Clash, DIY Magazine and The Line Of Best Fit, as well as being picked up by Zane Lowe as his Next Hype record.

We are very pleased to announce a free show with Astronomyy at the Waiting Room on 14 October.

They just premiered their brilliant pink-tinged new video on Dazed. Make sure to have a look here.

In their new video, the SoundCloud-famous Worcestershire songwriter skates out of the shadows into the pink, cruising down a deserted road in the South of France as his hopeful lyrics “Take me to a place where we both don’t have to face the things we face” spaciously drift by on the breeze. The track’s out now on the great There for U EP, released through astronomyy’s own label Lunar Surf.

London’s minimalistic, electro-duo Pale are back and as brooding as ever. True to their name, you will find no brightness or blush in this vocal angst and gravelly bass. Opening for acts like The Vaccines and Sky Ferreira, Alan and Lee earned approval in 2013 from the ubiquitous blogosphere with infectious tracks like “Fearing Faces,” “Too Much,” and “Rundown.” Their perfected sound and muted aesthetic float impossibly between a post-apocalyptic world and the 1980s, they play a FREE show at The Shacklewell Arms on Wednesday 8th October.

Caribou is back. After releasing one of the best albums of 2012 as Daphni (Jialong) Canadian producer Dan Snaith returns to his most well-known moniker to at last follow up his 2010 masterstroke, Swim. Merge Records has announced that on October 7, Caribou’s Our Loveshall arrive, bringing with it collaborations with singer-producer Jessy Lanza and Oscar-nominated violinist Owen Pallett. Also, you can hear the first taste of it — a lush and lovely number dubbed “Can’t Do Without You” — below, which is the best news of all.
The label says the new one “is formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip hop-inspired beats, muted house basslines, and a love of shuffling garage … The warm analog sounds of classic soul should not be overlooked either, for they weave themselves most intensely into the record’s DNA. In fact, Our Love is probably Caribou’s most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics and organic nature that cut through bubbling synths and the blissful euphoria of their synthetic constructions.” Sounds about right.

Following a triumphant return to the music landscape with the release of their exquisitely crafted fourth album ‘Luminous’, The Horrors have announced a tour for Autumn 2014. The announcement follows a string of US dates in New York, LA and Austin, and of course their sell-out album launch Show at The 100 Club.

The band recently unveiled the cinematic visuals for the album’s lead single ‘So Now You Know‘ – a striking coming of age narrative spanning the desolate landscapes of an empty LA desert town. Currently playlisted on Radio 1, 6Music, Absolute Radio and XFM, ‘So Now You Know’ is an otherworldly widescreen affair with the commanding vocals of Faris Badwan leading the way.
