It may still be another 3 months until Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks comes to London, but it doesn’t mean we’re not already very excited and so we were very happy to hear the news that their new album ‘Mirror Traffic’ is now available to stream on NPR ahead of its release.

For those that don’t know, The Black Cab Sessions is a very simple concept: find a band, put them in a cab, and let them play a song. This is Electrelane’s performance of “On Parade” for The Black Cab Sessions at Field Day.
Last week, Fixers recorded an exclusive live, studio session for the good guys over at The Line Of Best Fit with a performance of their new single “Swimmhaus Johannesburg,” which you will be able to see them play just as well on Tuesday night at The Shacklewell Arms.
We were hugely sorry to hear the awful news about the Sony DADC Warehouse Fire this week and the huge loss of stock to so many independent labels that are the bedrock of the UK music community.
Do take the time to look at some of the smaller labels and see if there’s a digital album you might want to buy and give them some extra help.
Another good place to start is the Domino Amazon Compilation, which is free but acts as a nice gateway to some of the year’s best records that you might also want to check out this week.
