Here is Metronomy at the Mercury Awards earlier today getting ready for this evening having freshly flown in from South America. Excitement definitely building!

The great and good of the music industry gather at Grovesner House Hotel tonight in London to celebrate another year of UK music and crown the victor of the often controversial Mercury Music Prize. The panel often likes a surprise and second guessing a winner is often a futile pursuit.

There’s a few EYOE faves on the list tonight: King Creosote + Jon Hopkins, Metronomy and Anna Calvi. We’ll be rooting for those tonight of course and hoping that we’ll get to celebrate a victory at the Albert Hall (Metronomy), Queen Elizabeth Hall (King Creosote and Jon Hopkins) or Shepherd’s Bush Empire (Anna Calvi).

Either way the list is one of the best for years, in itself a bit of a victory for the UK music community.

We’ve been playing the new Slow Club record a lot lately so its nice to have a bit of visual accompaniment for new single and album favourite ‘Where I’m Waking’. Bonus points because they both look like pop stars in this one!

Not too long until Chilly Gonzales’ residency at Soho Theatre for us so we’ve been catching up with some of his best moments over the weekend and wanted to share the love. No doubt these intimate perfomances will be well worth catching. We can’t wait.
