Watch: Gruff Rhys – Sensations in the Dark (Live)

Love this live clip of Gruff playing ‘Sensations in the Dark’ on Channel 4’s CTRL programme earlier in the year. Outside of Jools it’s not often you see quality live music on television (apart from the annual Glastonbury splurge, and Rockfeedback’s excellent fest coverage this year) so this one is a bit of a treat. We are looking forward to seeing Gruff in all his spontaneous glory on Wednesday night at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, a gig for which we still have tickets!

New sounds: Patten + Cities Aviv

PATTEN

Patten just released his debut EP on No Pain in Pop. That EP comes with the copy/paste friendly title: GLAQJO XAACSSO and is chock full of mutant electronic beats and glacial synths. He plays for us tomorrow night as part of Arthur Beatrice’s Open Assembly show.

Fire dream by NO PAIN IN POP

Cities Aviv

Mr. Aviv (pictured) has been gathering steam on the other side of the ocean with his terrific ‘Digital Lows’ record earlier in the year, as well as 2011’s summer jam of the year (by our estimation) in the form of Coastin’, which you can hear below.

Remix: Shit Robot x Planningtorock

Planningtorock is definitely keeping busy. A free EP last week and now a remix of Shit Robot. Factor that in with the London date tommorow night and this gal is keeping us pretty busy. It’s perfect Autumnal music with a bit of icy cool to it that is working just fine on this Monday morning. Stream it below:

Gruff Rhys on Whale Trail

We blogged some details of Gruff Rhys’ upcoming multimedia experience and the man himself fills in some blank spots in this short video!

The show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire looks like being a special occassion, capping off a great year for the man.

Listen: Planningtorock Bonus EP (Via Abeano)

Doorway (Bonus EP) by planningtorock

An early weekend treat in the form of a brand new set of songs from Planningtorock. The bonus EP comes ahead of her show for us next week which we are terribly excited about. Support from Creep and Romy XX at that date.

Listen: King Krule – The Noose of Jah City

We are big fans of this great new song from King Krule. Take a listen above as we anticipate seeing him live in London soon.
