Japanther ft. Spank Rock “Radical Businessman” from Chad von Nau on Vimeo.
Here’s another new guest spot from Spank Rock who comes to London in early December. This time he turns up in the unlikeliest of places – with punk duo Japanther. Watch above for the excellent results.
The Dø sold their London show out very quickly so we are pleased to announce another date for January 26th. While we’re at it, check out this great live session clip filmed in Paris.
A bit of synchronicity here – Niki and the Dove playing for us on Thursday and Blood Diamonds supporting Junio Boys for us on 12th of December. It’s a nice sonic melting pot too, take a listen…
The Drummer (Blood Diamonds Remix) by Niki & The Dove
Here’s a great new video from King Krule ahead of tommorow night’s Corsica Studios show. Moody stuff.
A bit of a bumper week for gigs this week with something great almost every single day. No excuses. So without further ado, gigs of the week…
Anna Calvi – Manchester Cathedral, Manchester – Monday (Sold Out)
Worth the trip to Manchester alone, our favourite modern chanteuse is in town to woo the North. This one is sold out but those lucky enough to have tickets are in for a treat.
Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks – Koko, London – Monday
A rare London show from the legend, the new record is superb and he is always a good watch too. Eagerly awaiting the sing-a-long line of the year too – “What the president wants is…’.
King Krule – Corsica Studios – Tuesday
The diminutive King Krule (pictured) plays for us on Tuesday fresh off rave reviews for his debut EP for True Panther and he is tipped for big, big things in 2012 and beyond. Worth seeing this prodigy take shape as early as possible we reckon.
Esben and the Witch + The Haxan Cloak – Corsica Studios – Wednesday
The excellent Esben and the Witch are back with a new EP and a show at Corsica Studios. As one of our favourite live acts around we will be eager to catch the new material as we await something bigger next year no doubt.
The History of Apple Pie – Shacklewell Arms – Wednesday (Sold Out)
Another sugary single and another sold out show at the Shacklewell for London shoegazers The History of Apple Pie. Hot competition but this one might be the buzziest show on Wednesday night.
Niki and The Dove – Cargo – Wednesday
Niki and the Dove are a formidable live act, earning huge reviews all year as they continue to blow away all and sundry. It’s our turn at Cargo on Wednesday and we have Niki and the Dove down as a big tip for next year (BBC Sound of 2012 anyone?)
Summer Camp – Efes, Dalston – Thursday
Not just a big summer but a big year for Summer Camp who have just released their excellent debut record on EYOE faves Moshi Moshi. The party comes to Efes on Thursday (as it always does!) with Summer Camp celebrating the record and treating us to some East End Kareoke too. We’re brushing up.
