D.A.N. were formed in the summer of 2014 in Tokyo. Their unique and thoroughly modern sound, sitting somewhere between the minimal alt-pop of The xx and the live dance music dynamic of Caribou has won them fans throughout their home country, and an offer to appear at the prestigious Fuji Rock Festival in 2016 was been swiftly followed by the band opening for international artists including James Blake and The xx in Japan. Late 2017 took the band to London, where they spent time recording with Floating Points at his personal studio, appeared on Giles Peterson’s Worldwide Radio and performed at the legendary Hackney haunt The Shacklewell Arms. With influences ranging from underground house and techno through to psychedelic and African music, the three piece are equally at home in the club as they are on a festival stage, and are being widely touted as the most exciting prospect to emerge from the Tokyo scene in many years.

Eat Your Own Ears and Goldenvoice, by arrangement with ITB Agency are pleased to present Honne at Village Underground on Tuesday 8 May.

Taking their name from the Japanese concept of  ‘true feelings’ and one’s intimate self, British due Honne combine soul with synths to convey their vision of musical intimacy.

They released their debut EP,’Warm on a Cold Night’ in September 2014, followed that same year by ‘All in the Value’.

After starting their own label Tatemae Recordings, in 2015, they released two more EP’s; ‘Coastal Love’ and ‘Over Lover’.

Honne built an online following and toured in Europe, selling out shows all over their home country.

In January 2016, ‘Gone Are The Days’ (Shimokita Import) was released, featuring ‘No Place Like Home’ with British soul singer JONES on vocals.

A collaborative single with Izzy Bizu, ‘Someone That Loves You’, followed months later as the pair prepared for a summer festival tour and their debut full-length album, which shared its name with their debut EP; ‘Warm on a Cold Night’.

In 2017 they delivered single ‘Just Dance’.

On his 2016 breakthrough EP i think you think too much of me, EDEN struck a rare balance of ingenuity and intuition with its guitar-heavy take on electronic pop. With new album vertigo, he takes an even more instinct-driven approach to his music, a process he perceives as a form of exploration. After selling out Dingwalls last year, EDEN heads to KOKO.

UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand the show has been moved to the O2 Forum Kentish Town.
