Animal Collective perform ‘Sung Tongs’ in full at Troxy on Tuesday 12 June.
‘Sung Tongs’ was the fourth studio album from American band Animal Collective, released on 3 May 2004 by FatCat Records. Fourteen years later and Animal Collective are back to perform the critically lauded album live in its entirety, with tour dates throughout Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. The band have only performed the album in full once before, at Pitchfork’s 21st birthday party in Queens, New York in December 2017.

‘Sung Tongs’ generated much praise from critics upon its release and was featured in best-of lists at the end of 2004 and the decade of the 2000s. Some might consider it the band’s breakthrough record, even though they had recorded much material prior. Sung Tongs was recently re-released on vinyl through My Animal Home.
Support comes from Eric Copeland (Black Dice).

With early solo material hailed “a revelation in terms of the depth of song writing” (The Sunday Times), Hilary Woods spent 2017 writing and making home recordings which culminated in her upcoming LP ‘Colt’, to be released this summer on Sacred Bones Records. These songs embody a beguiling song craft with lyrics cutting through layers of synth, piano, tape machine, field recordings,
acoustic instruments and minimalist beats. Captivating live, Woods makes a return in 2018 to anticipated live shows.

Daniel Blumberg

SPECIAL GUESTS
Café Oto
Friday 1 June 2018

8PM £8.50 ADV

Daniel Blumberg has written himself a rich musical history; from his teenage band who signed to XL whilst he was still at school, onto and through the projects of Yuck, Oupa and Hebronix, whilst solidifying close creative partnerships with the likes of David Berman (Silver Jews), Low, Lambchop and Royal Trux’s Neil Michael Hagerty (with whom Blumberg has performed as a member of the Howling Hex).

Blumberg has spent much of the last five years working solely within the radical community of musicians centered on London’s Café OTO, where he has been regularly improvising with a host of forward-thinking, uncompromising musicians.

Blumberg’s debut album ‘Minus’ is set for release on May 4th. Preorder the album HERE
