Teleman are a new three-piece who have emerged from the clatter and chaos of London to present their debut single ‘Cristina’, a gently propulsive song showcasing lead singer Tom Sanders’ distinctive and bittersweet vocals: “Cristina is so good / She makes me go across town / She makes me to lie down / There’s nothing in the way now”

Backed by the equally stunning ‘In Your Fur’, a more guitar driven track that escalates in tempo and tension before demonstrating their psychedelic side.

Produced by the legendary Bernard Butler, the limited 7” single will be out on January 14th through the Moshi Moshi Singles Club.

These tracks reveal Teleman’s innate ability for songwriting. The band’s simple, sonorous brew of guitar, drum and synths is not at all unusual, but with it they craft exquisite pop songs that instantly spark your musical curiosity.

With ‘Cristina’ already receiving radio plays from 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Ravenscroft andMarc Riley, Teleman are proving themselves worthy of close attention.

Tropics, a.k.a. 25 year old Chris Ward, had a big 2011, coming from nowhere to wide praise and exposure in a few short months. Picked up early on as an outstanding talent for his lush and highly melodic dreampop, which Pitchfork labeled “intoxicating and memorably tuneful”, he went on to drop both an EP and the critically acclaimed album Parodia Flare with Planet Mu.
Following a year of touring, dropping the archive collection Nautical Clamour, and turning in remixes for Little Dragon, M83 & Polica, he had his biggest success to date with November’s Popup Cinema EP on enigmatic Serbian imprint Svetlana Industries, the label responsible for launching the careers of Nightwave and Teebs. The EP sees Ward’s touchingly soft vocals begin to take centre stage in his sound, and hints at greater things to come.

Unintentionally off-the-grid and committed to his personal sound evolution, Flako is more of a Soul-documentarian than a typical beat maker. With roots in Chile, raised in Germany, and currently living in London via Berlin – the man himself is a melange of flavor. His particular sonic palette is a mercurial blend of warm analogue colors and cutting-edge design. His writing is marked by manifest emotion.

In a world jaded – caustic with sarcasm and packaged in plastic, he’s an example of an artist who’s fearless with his humanity. Not a fiend for the limelight, there’s no gimmick to his craft – ’cause in the end it’s all about an honest, well written tune.

After a decade as lead singer of experimental rock band Electrelane Verity Susman’s solo project (facebook.com/veritysusman) probes new territory. Using music, visuals and text, her live shows create a world of psychedelic alienation, embracing the subversive possibilities of awkwardness. Often appearing in drag, her saxophone becomes an organ of musical and gender performance, confronting audiences with a queer female masculinity that is at once serious, humorous, angry and uncomfortable. At times ironic, often passionate and full of joyous heartbreak, Verity takes the audience into a collage of exploratory soundscapes, woven through surreal reconstructions of lesbian pulp romance novels and sci-fi slash fiction tales.

TOM RICHARDS has been walking the line between sonic art, sculpture and music since graduating with a MA in Fine Art from Chelsea in 2004. In the last few years Richards has developed his own idiosyncratic modular electronic music system, with which he creates slowly evolving and heavily textured polyrhythmic improvisations. His individual approach and reduced palette lead to a taught, rhythmically focused sonic experience.

Plus Jehnny and Faye from SAVAGES will be playing records.
