The brilliant Hooton Tennis Club will be playing a free show at the Macbeth on 26th February.

Hooton Tennis Club are four good friends from Liverpool – Khal, Haz, J. Dean and Uncle Ry – who release their debut single for Heavenly Recordings, Jasper / Standing Knees, on Monday February 23rd 2015.

Produced by fellow Merseysider Bill Ryder Jones at his mum’s house, the double A-sided release, available on 7” and digitally, is an effortless slice of languid lo-fi in the classic Teenage Fanclub, Pavement, Guided By Voices tradition, full of unhurried chord changes and heavy-lidded drumming.

The band signed to Heavenly Recordings towards the end of last year following shows at both Liverpool’s Sound City Festival and the Cassette Store Day event in London.

Their first track Jasper just premiered on DIY. Listen to it here.

Ryan Hemsworth is a Canadian DJ and producer. His speciality is electronic music and sampling. He has produced tracks for Deniro Farrar and Shady Blaze, among others. He has also remixed works by Grimes, Frank Ocean, Tinashe and Cat Power. His 2013 LP, Guilt Trips, was released by Last Gang Records. In 2014, he released the second album, Alone for the First Time.
