The Dø

SAGE
Koko
Thursday 19 March 2015

£15.50

After their brilliant sold out show at Village Underground last autumn and following the release of their album ‘Shake, Shook, Shaken’ we are thrilled to announce a new show at Koko on 19 March.

Powerful, intense, coherent. “Shake, Shook, Shaken” is the very special odyssey of The Dø. Olivia Merilahti and Dan Levy always favored risk-taking rather than comfort and compromise. With this third album, the Franco-Finnish duo offers a radical change – a futuristic turn carried along by a syncopated electronic beat.

Caribou

KORELESS
O2 Academy Brixton
Saturday 14 March 2015
Sold Out

£17.50 ADVANCE

Built around warm, bubbling beats and Dan’s distinctive vocal loops before taking a bass heavy turn in the middle, you can listen to title track ‘Our Love’ here.

‘Our Love’, the new album from Caribou features collaborations with Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett. It was mixed by David Wrench and features artwork by Jason Evans / Matthew Cooper. ‘Our Love’ is a crisp and compact collage of contemporary electronic music. Intimate r ‘n’ b overtones smooch up with Detroit Techno and scrupulous synth sampling. It sounds like the future, which is exactly Snaith’s intention. ‘Our Love’ is probably Caribou’s most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics and organic nature which cuts through bubbling synths and blissful euphoria of their synthetic constructions. It’s not all downbeat of course, whilst some thoughts linger on mortality, loss and letting go, there is always an element of celebration.
LP – 180 Gram black vinyl (half speed mastered) with download of album.
The brilliant Koreless will be supporting.

Tune Yards

SPECIAL GUESTS
Royal Festival Hall
Thursday 5 March 2015

£17.50 - 22.50 ADVANCE

The celebrated tUnE-yArDs bring their live experience to Royal Festival Hall on the back of their latest album ‘Nikki Nack’.

Merrill Garbus has performed as tUnE-yArDs since 2009, and that band name has always been synonymous with forward movement – whether because of her explosive performance style or the always-surprising way in which her songs unfold.

After the success of the 2011 album W H O K I L L – it made the number one spot on the Village Voice’s 2011 Pazz and Jop poll – Nikki Nack, released in May, is brilliantly playful. It more than matches its jump-rope-chant title, with some tracks produced by Malay (Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, Big Boi) and John Hill (Rihanna, Shakira, M.I.A.).

The tUnE-yArDs live experience is showcasing a new set-up. One that reflects their new album’s move away from sax and more towards drums, heavy bass and synth.

‘Nikki Nack distills and intensifies what makes tUnE-yArDs so unique and fearless.’ (Billboard)

We are thrilled to announce that Hælos will be playing Oslo on 4th March.
Sometimes it’s worth letting your music do all the talking. After quietly posting Dust on Facebook, people quickly started sharing Hælos’ debut track, The Line of Best Fit made it Song of the Day… and the next thing the band knew, it was #1 on Hype Machine, Zane Lowe had cherry-picked it for his Next Hype record and it was getting plays on KCRW. This snowball effect is about to turn into an avalanche in 2015.
